Savarino Companies provided development services and served as construction manager at risk for the adaptive reuse of the former Center Street School in Gowanda, New York. The project transformed the historic facility into senior apartments, medical and professional offices, and a community performance center.
The redevelopment was supported by a $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, along with federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits allocated through New York State. Additional funding was secured through support from New York State Senator Patricia McGee, Univera Health, and the Village of Gowanda. Savarino Companies also provided financing for the private portion of the project.
