Savarino is serving as Developer and Construction Manager for the adaptive reuse of the former St. Aloysius Gonzaga school and convent at 157 Cleveland Drive in Cheektowaga, on behalf of the Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center (BHSC).
BHSC provides hearing, speech, autism and related services to more than 11,000 people annually across six school locations from Niagara to Chautauqua counties. The project will consolidate its Amherst and Cheektowaga school locations into a single expanded campus with more than 20 classrooms, enabling the organization to serve approximately 40 additional children in its early years of operation.
The 50,000-square-foot, three-story school building and the separate convent, both part of the now-Historic St. Aloysius Gonzaga parish campus, will be overhauled for BHSC's Early Childhood Education program. Renovations include full accessibility upgrades, replacement of all building systems, and new finishes throughout.
